The trendy ‘industrial’ look
Stand construction and retail space development: what’s the design language of the ‘factory’ style?
Attributed to the conversion of old factories or retail spaces into housing, this setting brings to mind ultra-trendy New York lofts.
Space and raw materials
The industrial style stands apart for its use of raw materials such as old wood, metal, leather, but also walls of brick, visible beams and stripped floors which blend together.

Although the industrial style is very eclectic, some materials are its signature and must always be present. These include cement and concrete on walls or on the floor.

Furniture includes chairs and metal cabinets, movie-like floor lamps and ultra-design objects using recycled objects.
With regard to metals, iron, chrome and stainless steel are emphasised. In terms of colours, dull hues like yellow, dark grey and black are favoured.
While its emergence has been noted in restaurants, offices, shops and homes, the industrial style recently hit fairs and exhibitions.
